How these pages work.

Because we can't verify another firm's reconciliation discipline, staffing continuity, or fee honesty from its website — and neither can the directories that publish ranked lists, which is why most of those lists are paid placement wearing an editorial costume. What we can give you is verifiable: the specific checks that separate genuinely good providers from plausible-looking ones, the honest map of provider types, and the questions that sort a shortlist in an afternoon. Criteria travel to any provider in any city; rankings travel exactly as far as the fee that bought them.
We appear on them, disclosed in the first screen of every page — they're written by us, and pretending otherwise would defeat the point. But nothing is ranked, on these pages or anywhere on this site: we place ourselves inside the honest landscape as one provider type among several, we state who we're the wrong fit for in the same breath as who we're the right fit for, and every claim about another provider is their own published information, dated. Hold us to the same checks we publish — that's what they're for.
No — none, anywhere. No provider paid to appear, no link earns us a commission, and no comparison was written to flatter an advertiser, because there are no advertisers. The best-of pages, the comparisons, and the guides all run on the same rule: real figures or no figures, published sources dated, and the honest section included even when it points away from us. A recommendation you can't trust is worth less than no recommendation.
